About Diede van Kasteren

My name is Diede van Kasteren and I am the Activities Officer of the 48th EFR-Board. In my second year I participated in the EFR Consultancy Charity Game. During this event I became so enthusiastic about the organisation and the people within the EFR that I decided to apply for the Activities Committee the year after. This is why last year I became chairman of the Activities Committee and organised the Port Days, the political debate and the EFR Consultancy Charity Game together with 6 others. Besides that I am studying IBA. I still have to finish two more courses, so hopefully I will finish my bachelor this year.

I am responsible for five committees, including the EFR-Business Week committee. Together with my committees I coordinate many of EFR's biggest events. A nationally televised political debate, and the EFR-Business Week are quite a challenge to coordinate, but it is all worth it when the deadlines have been met and the event is running!

About the Activities Officer position

The Activities Officer is responsible for the organisation for one of the largest and most eminent student congresses in Western Europe; the EFR-Business Week. For one year you will accompany the EFR-Business Week Committee consisting of 7 individuals. Together you will work on the most prestigious event of the EFR. Next to the organisational aspect that plays a huge role within this function, you are the one that will make sure that everyone at the EFR is working towards the same goals.

As Activities Officer you will also lead the Activity Committee, the Start Committee, the High Five Committee and the EFR-Ski Trip Committee. With them you will organise many activities like symposia, workshops, trips and parties.

Together with these committees you will make sure that the activities will have the professionalism and quality of which the EFR has been proud for years. In the function of  Activities Officer there is also a lot of space for innovation, development of new activities or the revival of old activities.

An Activities Officer should be able to work with several projects, is a peoples' person and a leader, can cope with stress, is a good communicator and is goal-oriented. Furthermore you should be able to motivate people and work together towards that common goal.
