Career Officer
Commercial Officer
My name is Rik Beekers, and I am the Career Officer of the 48th EFR-Board. I almost finished my bachelor, so I still have a few courses to follow during my board year. I am originally from the region around Arnhem/Nijmegen and I have been living in Rotterdam for over three years now. The past three years I have been an active member of different student-, study- and sport associations, and I went on exchange to the United States during my third year.
I am responsible for EFR's career related events; the Erasmus Recruitment Days and Erasmus Entrepreneurial Network for instance, are committees that I manage. I am also responsible for our HRM project called the Active Members Academy, which provides professional trainings for EFR's active members. EFR provides opportunities for personal development, something I am proud to be a part of!
The Career Officer is responsible for EFR’s career activities.
The Erasmus Recruitment Days will be the biggest project in your portfolio. Together with a STAR-Board member you will supervise the biggest on campus recruitment event in the Benelux. Together with her/him, it is your job to make sure that the Erasmus Recruitment Days are organised in a professional way.
The other committee you are responsible for is the Erasmus Entrepreneurial Network. This part time committee will organize activities that have to make students enthousiastic for entrepreneurship.
Since last year the EFR has built up the EFR-Training Center. In cooperation with companies you will organise trainings. You can think of: CV-training, Application training, but also a training Social Media or Personal Branding. You have to make sure that there will be organised a various range of trainings with a diverse group of participating students.
You are also responsible for the Active Members Academy, which entails arranging various task force meetings, trainings and individual conversations to help develop the active members of the EFR to the best of their capabilities.
Last but not least you are also responsible for the career part of the website of the EFR (efr.nl/career).
The job of Career Officer is a very interesting one, because it is a mix of all kinds of activities. You will guide a full time committee and a part time committee. You will get in touch with companies, active members and other students. And you can test your creativity in the design of the career site.
The Career Officer is versatile person, who needs skills in management, networking, communication and creativity. She/he is a strong leader and should be capable of building and maintaining a broad network.
