International Officer

About Renee Beaujon

My name is Renee Beaujon, three years ago I moved from my home country, Curacao, to Rotterdam to study IBEB.

As the International Officer I am responsible for internationalization of EFR, which implies that I manage a very diverse and dynamic portfolio of activities. One of these projects, which I am very proud to lead together with my team, is the World Leader Cycle (WLC). Each academic year, the WLC-Award is presented exclusively to prominent global citizens on behalf of our faculty and students.

About the International Officer Function

Being the International Officer is a very versatile and challenging position. For one year, you will be the international ambassador of the most prominent student organization of the Netherlands.

Internationalisation is key; both the university and Erasmus School of Economics are becoming more and more international and thus the group of international students is growing. It will be your job to meet their demands. You will do so by supervising four committees, all working to organise activities. The IBEB Start committee is mainly responsible for the organisation of activities for first year students, whereas IBEB Activity aims at organizing activities for the whole international (IBEB) community. In addition, you will get the chance to supervise the EFR-EuroTour project, a two-week exchange program that took us to Lisbon this year. Also two fairly new projects will need your persistence, the research oriented ICRE and the Model United Nations project.

Besides organising activities, you will be in direct contact with the faculty, staff and IBEB students to make sure that all parties are satisfied. In addition, you will have the responsibility to remain good contact with external international parties, like embassies and prominent speakers.

The International Officer has a lot of room for implementing his or her own ideas. A creative mind can make these ideas come true during one year as an International Officer!

Are you internationally oriented? Do you have excellent social and
communicative skills? Are you flexible, versatile, creative and immune to stress? Do you have very good English skills? Are you a team player? Then the position of International Affairs Officer would be perfect for you!
