My name is Oliver Ponder; I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. After living
here I moved to Thailand, and afterwards back to Brazil for about eight
years. Now I've returned to Holland to study economics at Erasmus.
Consistently communicating the added value we offer to
students is my main challenge. We are also constantly (re)evaluating
our services, processes, and methods of communication to see if we can
improve on them in any way, or perhaps even offer something that is
being overlooked currently.
The Marketing Officer is the internal and external marketing coordinator of the EFR.
You take care of the entire marketing and promotional policy of the EFR. Almost every expression of communication, as well as to the students as to the press is your responsibility. Positioning the EFR as one of the largest and most professional faculty associations is one of your core tasks, but your tasks are much more diverse.
Considering he high standards on which the EFR organizes her activities a lot of national and international press will be present at your activities. It is part of your position to keep in contact with the press and make sure all the publications are going to be published the way you want it, as good as possible for the EFR.
Not only do you take responsibility for the activities organized by your own committees,but as told before, the entire marketing and promotional policy of the EFR is your responsibility, which is quite a challenge. Every committee talks about their promotional plans with you and you get the chance to guide them through the whole promotional aspect of their activity. In the end you know best what the EFR stands for! You are responsible for the yearbook committee and together with the editor-in-chief of the Eclaire you make sure that your magazine is released several times a year.
Last but not least; The EFR has launched an entire new website just this year. Since e-marketing is getting more and more important, this will also take a lot of your time. The website has to be up-to-date and must look good though professional at the same time. You also take care of the technical part of the website.
