My name is Lukas Voesenek, for the past three years I've studied IBEB
at the Erasmus University. Before I became EFR's President I was active
in two EFR-committees organizing various events.
As President of the EFR-Board I'm expected
to manage and provide support to my fellow Board members. The EFR-Board
is a close team, and it's my job to keep things that way. I am the
'face' of EFR; a faculty association with a great history and an even
greater future!
Over 3.800 members, more than 110 committee members, seven motivated board members, and you’re the one to determine the direction of this ‘company’. Are you up for your first real management position in which you will build upon the brand EFR,having full support of the university? Then you are the right person to become President of the 47th Board of the EFR.
The President is expected to manage and provide support to the board: The EFR-Board will become a close team, and it is your job to keep things that way. Also you will be the ‘face’ of the organization. Maintaining important contacts e.g.with the board of the university, the Mayor, and the Ministry of General Affairs is an essential part of this. Furthermore the President is to determine short and long term planning and will confer on a regular basis with all (student) associations in Rotterdam. Also, the President is to have regular meetings with the supervisory board and is a member of the Allotment Committee of EIAF. The President is expected to spend considerable time and effort on ‘greenfields’ and the positioning of EFR as a whole. In other words: The President has the final responsibility for EFR's day-to-day business; a faculty association with a great history and even a greater future.
The President is a highly skilled diplomat and an excellent communicator who is not afraid to make decisions based on incomplete information and has a creative way of dealing with acute problems. When things are going well, you will get all glory, but if things do not run as smoothly as they ought to, the President is expected to assist and therefore he is involved in all operations. Leading the EFR for a year being on the Board is a year of hard work and commitment to the EFR. This is tough, because even when everyone is run-out flat, the President will have to motivate them to make the extra step needed.
