Model United Nations

The Economic Faculty association Rotterdam (EFR) in cooperation with Erasmus School of Economics organises a Model United Nations conference each year in the beautiful city of Rotterdam! This multicultural city that breathes diversity is the perfect place to organise a MUN with contentious debates, wrought-up emotions and progressive resolutions. Sporting several committees and a press corps, this MUN caters the needs of MUN veterans, experts and newbies alike. Furthermore, be ready to have a thrilling time outside of the conference rooms too: lunches and social drinks to get to know your fellow delegates from all around the globe!

EFR has lots of experience when it comes to MUNs, and after training numerous delegates over the years and sending delegations to various MUNs all over the world, the time has come to establish its own MUN, focusing on the perfect mixture of debating, exchanging views and social events. So now, we are looking for you to become one of our delegates!

The main goal of the delegates is to create and share resolutions for the topics in discussion, taking into consideration the policies and the culture of the country that you are representing. Each committee has its difficulty, so you will find something that suits your experience and curiosity. Moreover, those committees have chairs, who are responsible for a variety of tasks, such as mediating the debates and creating research reports that will be distributed to the delegates. To become a chair, you need to have previous experience with MUN, to be organised and to be familiar with the formalities of the event.

For Erasmus School of Economics students, MUNROT will be part of the newest addition to the curriculum, Career Skills! This means that from the upcoming academic year onwards, you will be able to earn 1 ECTS by participating in EFR's Model United Nations.
