EFR is proud to present the EFR Speaker Cycle: ‘Powerful Perspectives’. The aim of the Speaker Cycle is to let you critically reassess your point of view on today’s biggest challenges by connecting you with prominent speakers. They will explore the theme through an inspiring online lecture followed by a Q&A session.

We would like to announce the next speakers in the cycle: Herman Wijffels and Dirk Schoenmaker. Throughout his career, Herman Wijffels served as the Chairman of the Executive Board of Rabobank Nederland, the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands and as the Dutch administrator and board member at the Worldbank. As a professor in Sustainability and Societal Change at Utrecht University, he co-founded the Sustainable Finance Lab. 

Prof. Dirk Schoenmaker is a Professor of Banking and Finance at the Rotterdam School of Management. His research and teaching focus are on the areas of sustainable finance, both theory of sustainable finance and application in investment, banking and insurance. He previously served at the Netherlands Ministry of Finance, at the Bank of England and he was Dean of the Duisenberg school of finance. He is also a member of the Sustainable Finance Lab. 

Herman Wijffels and Dirk Schoenmaker will share their experience as a professor and their expertise on sustainability and economics will be combined to bridge the gap between theory and practice. 

This event of the speaker cycle will take place on the 8th of December 11:00-12:45 and will be held online and on campus.
